About Tequesta
Duct Replacement in Tequesta, FL.
Tequesta sits where the Loxahatchee River meets the Jupiter Inlet, and that setting shapes its homes and their ductwork. Many houses in the village core and around Tequesta Country Club are 1970s ranch-style homes, single story with long hallways, where the original duct layout fed every bedroom from one trunk and a single return. Those systems have been reconnected to new equipment several times, and the flex branches and fittings show it. Waterfront homes along the river and the Intracoastal deal with salty, humid air that reaches the attic and corrodes metal hangers, collars and register frames. Newer homes in Cypress Creek are younger, but even they can have builder-installed ducts with long runs and tight turns that shortchange the far rooms. Tequesta is a small, close-knit village where people expect careful work and clear answers. Swift replaces ductwork here with a room-by-room design that brings every bedroom into line with the rest of the house.
About this service
Duct Replacement in Tequesta
Your air conditioner can only cool your home as well as your ductwork delivers the air. In South Florida, ducts live in some of the hottest attics in the country, and after years of summer heat, flex duct sags, inner liners tear, insulation flattens and connections pull loose. ENERGY STAR estimates that in a typical house, about 20 to 30 percent of the air moving through the duct system is lost to leaks, holes and poorly connected ducts. In a Florida attic, that cooled air is simply gone, and leaky return ducts pull hot, humid attic air back into your home.
Swift Air Conditioning specializes in whole-home duct replacement. We don't just swap old ducts for new ones in the same layout. Our team designs every system in-house, starting with a room-by-room Manual J load calculation to find out how much cooling each room actually needs, then a Manual D duct design that sizes every supply run, trunk line and return to deliver that airflow. Our goal on every job is every bedroom within 3°F of the thermostat, which matches the room-to-room comfort guideline in ACCA's Manual RS.
Installation is where good designs succeed or fail. Our crews seal every joint with mastic, insulate the new ducts for a Florida attic, support them so they can't sag, add return paths so closed bedrooms keep getting air and seal the connections at the air handler. We pull the permit, schedule the inspection and finish by measuring the airflow at every register and balancing the system.
Signs you may need new ductwork include rooms that never cool down, rising electric bills, dust that returns right after cleaning, a musty smell when the AC starts, sweating vents and ducts that are crushed, torn or disconnected in the attic. If your home still has its original ducts, or they've been patched through several AC replacements, a free in-home quote will show you what you have and what it would take to fix it. We serve homes from Vero Beach to Fort Lauderdale, and our team speaks Spanish. Call (561) 685-8408 to schedule your free quote.

Your free in-home quote includes an attic inspection, a look at the air handler and room measurements for a Manual J load calculation, which our team runs in-house. We design the new ducts with Manual D. In the long, single-story ranch homes common in Tequesta, the design usually adds returns to the bedroom wing and replaces undersized branches so the rooms at the end of the hall get their share of air. For river and Intracoastal homes, we use corrosion-resistant hardware where salt air reaches the attic and seal the system tightly so humid air stays out. Every joint is sealed with mastic, ducts are insulated for the attic and supported along their length, and the old ductwork is removed and hauled away. We obtain the permit through the local building department and schedule the inspection. Before the crew leaves, we measure airflow at each register and balance until each Tequesta bedroom is within 3°F of the thermostat.

Frequently asked questions
Long single-story ranch homes often feed the bedroom wing from the far end of one trunk, with a single return in the hall. By the time air reaches those rooms, there's less of it, and closed doors cut off the return path. A Manual D redesign with properly sized branches and bedroom returns usually fixes it in Tequesta homes.
The ducts themselves are standard, but near the river and Intracoastal we pay close attention to corrosion-prone parts like metal hangers, collars, fasteners and register frames. For waterfront Tequesta homes, we use corrosion-resistant hardware where it makes sense and seal the system so salty, humid attic air stays out.
Most single-family homes in Tequesta take one to two days, depending on the size of the home, attic access and how many returns we add. We give you the schedule with the free quote, protect your floors and furnishings while we work and finish with an airflow check so you know every room is getting air.
A room-by-room Manual J load calculation and a Manual D duct design done in-house, removal of the old ductwork, new ducts sealed with mastic, insulated and properly supported, return paths for bedrooms, sealed air handler connections, the permit and inspection, and a final airflow test and balance. The in-home quote is free.
ACCA's Manual RS comfort guidelines call for each room served by a thermostat to stay within 3°F of the thermostat setting while cooling. That's the target we design and balance to. After installation, we measure airflow and room temperatures to confirm the new duct system delivers it.
