About Delray Beach
Duct Replacement in Delray Beach, FL.
Delray Beach has some of the most varied housing in southern Palm Beach County, and its ductwork shows it. Mid-century block homes in Lake Ida and Delray Shores often have low-slope roofs and tight attics, so the ducts were threaded wherever they fit and have been patched with every system change since. Waterfront homes in Tropic Isle and the neighborhoods east of Federal Highway sit close enough to the ocean that salt air works on metal fittings, registers and hangers. Many of these houses have also grown over the years, with Florida rooms, enclosed garages and second-story additions tied into ducts that were never sized for them. Out west, the large planned communities toward the Everglades, many of them 55-plus, still rely on original duct systems that are now decades old. Swift replaces ductwork across Delray Beach with systems designed for each home, so rooms that have been warm for years finally keep up with the rest of the house.
About this service
Duct Replacement in Delray Beach
Your air conditioner can only cool your home as well as your ductwork delivers the air. In South Florida, ducts live in some of the hottest attics in the country, and after years of summer heat, flex duct sags, inner liners tear, insulation flattens and connections pull loose. ENERGY STAR estimates that in a typical house, about 20 to 30 percent of the air moving through the duct system is lost to leaks, holes and poorly connected ducts. In a Florida attic, that cooled air is simply gone, and leaky return ducts pull hot, humid attic air back into your home.
Swift Air Conditioning specializes in whole-home duct replacement. We don't just swap old ducts for new ones in the same layout. Our team designs every system in-house, starting with a room-by-room Manual J load calculation to find out how much cooling each room actually needs, then a Manual D duct design that sizes every supply run, trunk line and return to deliver that airflow. Our goal on every job is every bedroom within 3°F of the thermostat, which matches the room-to-room comfort guideline in ACCA's Manual RS.
Installation is where good designs succeed or fail. Our crews seal every joint with mastic, insulate the new ducts for a Florida attic, support them so they can't sag, add return paths so closed bedrooms keep getting air and seal the connections at the air handler. We pull the permit, schedule the inspection and finish by measuring the airflow at every register and balancing the system.
Signs you may need new ductwork include rooms that never cool down, rising electric bills, dust that returns right after cleaning, a musty smell when the AC starts, sweating vents and ducts that are crushed, torn or disconnected in the attic. If your home still has its original ducts, or they've been patched through several AC replacements, a free in-home quote will show you what you have and what it would take to fix it. We serve homes from Vero Beach to Fort Lauderdale, and our team speaks Spanish. Call (561) 685-8408 to schedule your free quote.

Local details
Duct Replacement details for Delray Beach.
Older Delray Beach homes rarely have generous attic space, so we start every job by checking clearance, access and the condition of the roof deck and insulation. The free in-home quote includes a Manual J load calculation and a Manual D layout done by our team, which is how we decide where trunk lines run, how big each branch should be and where new returns belong. Additions are a frequent culprit here. A Florida room or converted garage tapped off the nearest duct almost never gets enough air, so we give it a properly sized supply and a path back to the return. Near the water, we use corrosion-resistant fasteners and hangers where it helps. All joints get mastic, ducts are insulated for the attic and supported along their length. In 55-plus communities, we coordinate with the association for access and parking. We pull the permit with the local building department, then balance the new system until each Delray Beach bedroom is within 3°F of the thermostat.

Got questions?
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Many mid-century Delray Beach homes have shallow attics, so we plan the layout around the space available, using flatter trunk designs or routing through soffits and closets where needed. The free in-home quote includes a look at the attic so you know up front how the new ducts will be run and what it involves.
Most Florida rooms and enclosed porches were added after the original AC, and they were usually tied into the nearest duct with a single small supply. Glass walls add heat, but the duct can't deliver enough air to offset it. When we replace or redesign ducts in a Delray Beach home, that room gets its own properly sized supply and a return path.
Yes. We work in the planned and 55-plus communities across west Delray Beach, many of which still have original duct systems. We handle the association paperwork and scheduling, keep the work area clean, and explain the plan in plain language before any work starts. Our team can also walk you through it in Spanish.
A room-by-room Manual J load calculation and a Manual D duct design done in-house, removal of the old ductwork, new ducts sealed with mastic, insulated and properly supported, return paths for bedrooms, sealed air handler connections, the permit and inspection, and a final airflow test and balance. The in-home quote is free.
ACCA's Manual RS comfort guidelines call for each room served by a thermostat to stay within 3°F of the thermostat setting while cooling. That's the target we design and balance to. After installation, we measure airflow and room temperatures to confirm the new duct system delivers it.
